Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking an Area Chief of Staff to lead, develop, and manage associate veterinarians across hospitals, ensuring quality care aligned with Banfield’s six domains of quality. This role drives culture and performance by supporting veterinary teams to achieve high standards in safety, effectiveness, patient/client-centered care, timeliness, efficiency, and equity.

The position emphasizes recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship of veterinary staff, with a focus on doctor

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required.
• Veterinary license in good standing or eligibility for licensure with the applicable state veterinary board.
• Three years experience in small animal medicine and surgery practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage associate veterinarians to deliver quality care and meet hospital performance measures.
• Coach, recruit, onboard, and train new associate and locum veterinarians across hospitals.
• Drive doctor engagement and retention by implementing supportive strategies at the hospital level.
• Perform regular hospital visits and quality audits to ensure compliance with standards and improve operations.
• Deliver on veterinary quality KPIs to support hospital, market, and OGSM objectives.
• Partner with DVQ and POCP to identify and develop future veterinary leaders.
