Job summary

Ocean State Veterinary Specialists (OSVS) is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesia in surgery and imaging. Join a teaching hospital environment where you’ll monitor anesthetized patients across a broad range of specialty services and collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, neurologists, ECC, and other teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a veterinary technician.
• Associate degree in Veterinary Technology or related field preferred.
• Active veterinary technician certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Set professionalism, patient care, and client service standards.
• Evaluate anesthetic risk and anticipate patient needs.
• Administer medications, fluids, CRIs, analgesics, and blood products as indicated.
• Accurately calculate medication dosages and fluid boluses.
• Perform IV catheter placement, anesthetic induction, and endotracheal intubation.
• Train and mentor staff in technical skills and best practices.
