Job summary

University of Minnesota is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to support students and clinicians in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will assist DVMs, perform and supervise procedures, and help with anesthesia across diverse species, while contributing to teaching labs and ongoing clinical research.

You must be able to restrain animals, communicate effectively, and demonstrate strong team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Veterinary Technician or equivalent program; certified MVMA/MAVT.
• Ability to act independently with little supervision.
• Experience assisting DVMs as a certified technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform, teach, and train veterinary procedures for students and staff.
• Assist teaching labs and provide excellent service to DVMs and medical team.
• Anesthetize, monitor, and treat anesthesia patients across multiple species.
• Coordinate clinical research activities under clinician supervision.
• Restrain and handle animals; assist with special procedures as needed.
• Triages and prepares patients for procedures; participate in CPR.
• Deliver courteous customer service to clients and staff; communicate clearly.
