Job summary

Humane Society of Mason County in Washington state seeks a licensed Veterinary Technician to support a high-volume spay/neuter clinic, manage anesthesia, vaccines, and post-operative care.

You will lead clinical workflows, train volunteers, ensure sterility, and maintain accurate medical records while delivering compassionate service to pets and their families. WA license and CPR certification are required, with benefits including health, dental, vision and PTO.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician in WA.
• CPR certification required.
• Maintain other licenses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle and track controlled substances for large volumes of surgical patients.
• Premedicate, induce, and intubate as necessary.
• Monitor anesthesia with awareness of abnormal conditions.
• Follow paperwork procedures accurately daily.
• Communicate with clients and assist with re-checks as needed.
• Train veterinary assistants and volunteers to use our patient care protocols.
• Respond during emergencies under veterinarian direction and manage surgical complications.
• Direct others during an emergency.
