Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Veterinarian Medical Director to lead a veterinary medical team at one of our partnered clinical practices. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, experienced veterinarian with strong leadership qualities and a passion for delivering excellent medical care and team mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and medical oversight to the veterinary team and clinic staff
- Ensure high-quality care for animal patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care
- Promote a positive team environment through mentoring, development, and performance management
- Drive hospital policies, protocols, and best practices in compliance with veterinary regulations
- Participate in hiring and training new team members as needed
- Represent the practice in the community and among stakeholders
- Collaborate with operational leadership to support business goals and growth
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited university
- Active and unrestricted veterinary license in the state of employment
- Strong clinical and surgical competency
- 5+ years of veterinary clinical experience preferred
- Previous leadership or management experience in a veterinary setting is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Current DEA license (preferred, not required)
- USDA Accreditation (preferred, not required)
