Job Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Veterinarian Medical Director to lead a veterinary medical team at one of our partnered clinical practices. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, experienced veterinarian with strong leadership qualities and a passion for delivering excellent medical care and team mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and medical oversight to the veterinary team and clinic staff
• Ensure high-quality care for animal patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care
• Promote a positive team environment through mentoring, development, and performance management
• Drive hospital policies, protocols, and best practices in compliance with veterinary regulations
• Participate in hiring and training new team members as needed
• Represent the practice in the community and among stakeholders
• Collaborate with operational leadership to support business goals and growth

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited university
• Active and unrestricted veterinary license in the state of employment
• Strong clinical and surgical competency
• 5+ years of veterinary clinical experience preferred
• Previous leadership or management experience in a veterinary setting is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Current DEA license (preferred, not required)
• USDA Accreditation (preferred, not required)
