Although this is a Medical Director position, the hospital maintains a strong culture of mentorship and continuous learning.
Experienced veterinarians will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and develop the wider team, while students and new graduates are also supported through dedicated mentorship.
The wider organization provides extensive opportunities for continuing education, including online learning and professional development resources, as well as opportunities to participate in clinical studies.
The hospital offers flexibility around scheduling and is open to discussing both full-time and part-time arrangements.
Current operating hours are:
There is flexibility around shifts, allowing the position to be structured around the right candidate wherever possible.
The Medical Director will receive a competitive compensation package of approximately $130,000$160,000 annually, depending on experience, skills and credentials.
Additional benefits include:
We're looking for a veterinarian who is ready to take on greater responsibility and influence the future direction of a hospital.
You may already have Medical Director or leadership experience, or you could be an experienced Associate Veterinarian ready to make the transition into management and clinical leadership.
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited university is required, along with a Maryland veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one.
The area has a fascinating history, with historic buildings, museums and heritage sites providing plenty to explore away from work. The surrounding region also offers beautiful parks, waterways and opportunities for boating, hiking and other outdoor activities.
You’ll find a growing selection of restaurants, local food and drink, cultural attractions and nearby wineries, while the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding waterways provide an excellent backdrop for weekends and time off.
For those wanting access to a larger city, Washington, D.C. and Baltimore are within reach, giving you the opportunity to enjoy major cultural, sporting and entertainment attractions while maintaining a more relaxed lifestyle at home.
If you're ready to lead an established veterinary team, influence medical standards and continue practicing medicine without taking on the financial risk of practice ownership this could be an excellent opportunity.
