Job summary

Petco in the U.S. veterinary hospital network seeks a dedicated Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to join our Vetco Total Care team in Arizona. You will lead compassionate patient care, diagnose diseases, perform surgeries, and collaborate with staff to deliver high-quality veterinary services.

You will manage day-to-day patient care, develop treatment plans, and communicate clearly with clients to ensure understanding and trust while upholding Petco's values and commitment to animal welfare.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA-accredited school.
• Active licensure to practice in the state.
• Current DEA license and controlled substance license when applicable.
• USDA accreditation or plan to obtain within two months.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care by performing examinations, diagnosing diseases, and providing preventive care.
• Document observations, exam findings, diagnostics, treatments, and diagnoses in the medical record.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters and dental procedures.
• Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization and coordinate with referral hospitals as needed.
• Collaborate with Hospital Medical Leader and staff to maintain high-quality care.
