Job summary

Wilkes County Veterinary Services is seeking an Experienced Veterinarian (DVM) - Mixed Animal Associate to join our growing team in Washington, Georgia. This role offers the chance to work with small animals, cattle, small ruminants, and occasional equine in a supportive, community-oriented clinic.

You will provide medical, surgical, and preventive care, build strong client relationships, and collaborate with a skilled team while enjoying a balanced schedule and opportunities for professional

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent and Georgia license (or ability to obtain).
• Experience in mixed-animal practice or strong large-animal interest as a new grad.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a veterinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical, surgical, and emergency care for multiple species.
• Conduct physical exams; diagnose and treat medical conditions; manage routine and complex cases.
• Perform surgeries, including farm and field surgeries.
• Deliver preventive care—vaccines, nutrition counseling, herd health, parasite control.
• Complete farm calls and participate in shared on-call duties.
• Work closely with technicians, assistants, and support staff.
• Maintain accurate medical records in the practice management system.
• Build strong client relationships with owners who value expertise.

Who You Are

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree / VMD or equivalent, with a Georgia license (or the ability to obtain one).
• Experienced in mixed-animal work or a motivated newer graduate with strong large-animal interest.
• Communicative, compassionate, and confident treating varied species-from cats to cattle.
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative, community-oriented clinic.

Excited about hands-on large animal work and willing to participate in rotational on-call duties.
