Job summary

Suffield Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time veterinarian to join our five-doctor general practice. We offer a competitive salary of $130,000–$150,000 per year plus ProSal with no negative accrual, and a 4-day, 30–40 hour workweek with a rotating Saturday. Sign-on bonus is available.

We provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care for small animals, exotics, and birds, with a collaborative team and opportunities to pursue interests in dentistry, exotics, and behavior.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution available.
• A valid veterinary license in Connecticut.
• Confidence providing general medical care and canine/feline dentistry.
• Willingness to perform routine and soft tissue surgeries weekly.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to client education.
• Kind, inclusive, collaborative approach to colleagues.
• Interest or experience in exotic pet care welcomed; exotic dentistry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive care, medical workups, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery for small animals.
• Perform routine general practice and soft tissue surgeries weekly.
• Support client education and strengthen the human–animal bond.
• Collaborate with the team to manage a varied caseload and referrals.
