Job summary

Pilgrim’s Staff Veterinarian role overseeing health programs across multiple complexes and ensuring regulatory compliance, biosecurity and animal welfare. Based at a designated Pilgrim’s facility with travel to Arcadia, FL? not remote and travel to other sites as needed.

You will collaborate with the Pilgrim’s Veterinary Services team, lead training for on-site teams, and support group projects while maintaining excellent communication with management and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent required.
• Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in required states.
• Post doctorate poultry medicine training preferred.
• ACPV diplomate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct contact for bird health and biosecurity across complexes.
• Maintain regulatory compliance (VFDs, Rx, NPIP, USDA certificates).
• Train live team personnel and contribute to vet team projects.

Staff Veterinarian

Purpose & Scope: This position will have direct veterinary responsibility for multiple Pilgrim’s complexes, working with live management in all areas (pullets/breeders, hatchery, broiler grow out, and plant), satisfying regulatory health requirements, ensuring implementation and compliance with company programs, and contributing to the Pilgrim’s Veterinary Services team.

The position will be based out of a designated Pilgrim’s facility – St. Cloud, MN; Arcadia, WI; Broadway, VA; Moorefield, WV; Sanford, NC; Marshville, NC; Sumter, SC; and Athens, GA. This is NOT a remote position!

Principle Responsibilities:

• Direct contact for bird health, animal welfare, and biosecurity in multiple Pilgrim’s complexes
• Responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance related to VFDs, Rx, NPIP, and USDA health/export certificates
• Training and education of live team personnel
• Contribution to Pilgrim’s vet team efforts on group projects, trials, etc.

Travel:

• Routine travel required to assigned complexes
• Additional travel to live meetings, continuing education conferences, etc.

Required Qualifications:

• DVM or equivalent required
• Veterinary licensu re and federal accreditation with ability to be licensed in multiple states required
• Post doctorate training program in poultry medicine preferred
• ACPV diplomate preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Microsoft Office suite competency
