Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Staff Veterinarian to lead bird health, animal welfare, and biosecurity across multiple Pilgrim’s complexes. The role is based at a designated Pilgrim’s facility in Moorefield, WV (also listed locations) and is not a remote position.

You will ensure regulatory compliance for VFDs, Rx, NPIP, USDA health/export certificates, train team members, and collaborate with the veterinary group on trials and projects. Routine travel to complexes and meetings is required.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent required.
• Veterinary licensure and federal accreditation with ability to be licensed in multiple states required.
• Post doctorate training program in poultry medicine preferred.
• ACPV diplomate preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Microsoft Office suite competency.

Responsibilities

• Direct contact for bird health, animal welfare, and biosecurity in multiple Pilgrim’s complexes.
• Training and education of live team personnel.
• Contribution to Pilgrim’s vet team efforts on group projects, trials, etc.

Principle Responsibilities

• The position will be based out of adesignatedPilgrim’s facility- St. Cloud, MN; Arcadia, WI; Broadway, VA; Moorefield, WV; Sanford, NC; Marshville, NC; Sumter, SC; and Athens, GA. This isNOTa remote position!
• Direct contact for bird health, animal welfare, and biosecurity in multiple Pilgrim’s complexes
• Responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance related to VFDs, Rx, NPIP, and USDA health/export certificates
• Training and education of live team personnel
• Contribution to Pilgrim’s vet team efforts on group projects, trials, etc.

Travel

• Routine travel required to assigned complexes
• Additional travel to live meetings, continuing education conferences, etc.
