Job summary

Animal Hospital of Maple Valley in Maple Valley, Washington is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our independent, non-corporate practice. We value relationships with clients, patients, and the local community, and we welcome a compassionate veterinarian who is comfortable with dogs and cats and who enjoys a collaborative team environment.

Our day features a three-doctor workflow, generous 30-minute appointments, and a mix of medicine and surgery.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from an accredited veterinary school.
• Current Washington State veterinary license or eligibility.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, diagnostics, and medical care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client-service team members.
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to be hands-on and meet patients at their level.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care for dogs and cats.
• Perform surgeries and critical diagnostic testing as needed.

Animal Hospital of Maple Valley is seeking a compassionate, personable Associate Veterinarian to join our independently owned, non-corporate small- animal practice. We are a community- and family-centered hospital that believes exceptional veterinary medicine begins with treating clients, patients, and team members with genuine care and respect.

We are looking for a veterinarian who is comfortable getting down on the floor to connect with a nervous dog, taking the time to earn a cat’s trust, and building lasting relationships with the families who depend on us.

Associate Veterinarian (DVM)

Our hospital is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Doctors begin at 8:30 a.m., with the final scheduled examination beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Our Daily Doctor Structure

We typically have three veterinarians working in the hospital each day:

• Two veterinarians see scheduled appointments
• One veterinarian performs surgical procedures and manages drop-off appointments and emergencies

This structure allows our doctors to collaborate while giving each patient the time and attention they deserve.

• Wellness and preventive care
• Comprehensive physical examinations

What We’re Looking For

Our ideal veterinarian is compassionate, approachable, confident, and committed to practicing high-quality medicine. You should enjoy working collaboratively and communicating openly with clients and colleagues.

Successful candidates will have:

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited veterinary school
• A current Washington State veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one
• Strong knowledge of veterinary anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, diagnostics, and medical care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
• The ability to work effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client-service team members
• The ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and proper sanitation protocols
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology and diagnostic procedures
• A willingness to be hands-on and meet patients at their level
• A warm, personable approach with clients, patients, and coworkers

Compensation

Salary range: $90,000–$200,000 per year, based on experience, schedule, and qualifications.

Additional compensation: Production commission, bi-annual bonuses, CE allowance.
