Job summary

Midwest Bird & Exotic Animal Hospital in Chicago is relocating to a larger facility to expand its canine and feline medicine offerings, while building on its exotic medicine foundation. We seek a DVM who enjoys high-quality general practice and may have an interest or background in exotics.

The role combines daytime growth with established exotic medicine and extended-hours ER exposure, joining a respected hospital with a multi-state client base and a forward-looking direction.

Qualifications

• Licensed DVM with interest in canine, feline and exotic medicine.
• Experience in general practice with exotics preferred.
• Willing to work extended hours including after 4 PM for ER exposure.

• Provide high-quality canine, feline, and exotic medicine services.
• Help grow all-day canine and feline medicine in a new hospital space.

Midwest Bird & Exotic Animal Hospital is entering an exciting new chapter with a move to a larger facility nearby in March! The expanded space will create more room to grow our canine and feline medicine offerings throughout the day while continuing to build on our strong exotic medicine foundation.

This is a unique opportunity for a canine and feline medicine DVM who enjoys high-quality general practice and may also have an interest or background in exotics. With emergency care beginning after 4 PM, this role offers a distinctive mix of daytime growth opportunities, established exotic medicine, and extended-hours ER exposure. You’ll join a respected Chicago hospital with a multi-state client draw and a future that is growing in an exciting direction!

Our Practice

• 20+ years serving the community in partnership with NVA
• Established exotic medicine reputation with growing daytime canine and feline medicine services
• Open daily until midnight, with plans to expand canine and feline medicine care throughout the whole day

The Opportunity and Hospital’s Future

Schedule

• Open 7 days a week until midnight
• Daytime caseload currently focused on exotics, expanding to include canine and feline
• ER after 4 PM

ProSal Compensation

• Base salary: $125,000–$140,000
• Eligibility-based production bonuses paid quarterly
• Packages based on education, experience, skills, and interests
