Job summary

UrgentVet in Elgin, Illinois, is seeking a DVM to join our after-hours urgent care team. You’ll provide care for canine and feline patients during single-doctor shifts, handling urgent cases like wounds, ear infections, vomiting, diarrhea, and end-of-life needs.

Our paperless clinics feature cloud EMR, digital x-ray, and IDEXX in-house labs. You’ll collaborate with a strong technical team, enjoy a flexible schedule, and access mentorship and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of ECFVG or PAVE)
• Active license in good standing to practice in the state (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Serve patients and clients with a relationship-based approach
• Collaborate and engage with the clinical team and leadership
• Grow relationships within the practice and the Chicago community
• Encourage the growth of support staff members through our internal LevelUp training program
• Manage a varying caseload, including surgeries and appointments during our open hours

UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care in the Elgin, Illinois area. We offer after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our single-doctor shifts offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Each of our paperless clinics is specially designed to deliver efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment.
