A trusted small animal hospital in Manchester, CT is seeking a Medical Director, with no weekends and a $50k bonus!

We are working on behalf of a well-established small animal general practice in Manchester, CT that is looking for a Veterinary Medical Director to lead its team.

Rooted in the local community and serving Manchester and the greater Hartford area, the hospital offers wellness and sick exams, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics for dogs and cats, with a loyal client base that trusts the team and wants the very best for their pets. As Medical Director, you will be the clinical leader of the hospital, partnering closely with the practice manager and leadership team to shape the hospital’s vision, build a strong culture, and keep standards of care high. You will mentor the veterinary team, guide improvements in patient and client care, and support staff as they work toward their long-term goals.

The role includes a substantial block of protected administrative time, so you can lead well without it eating into your evenings. The hospital is open Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 6pm and Friday 8:30am to 5pm, so there are no weekends. You get the feel of an independent, community-focused practice backed by the resources of a larger national network, including a dedicated Medical Leadership Program that combines self-paced learning, live sessions, and 1:1 mentorship. Compensation is ProSal with an elevated production percentage, quarterly production bonus payouts, a Medical Director stipend, and no negative accrual, plus a $50,000 signing bonus.

About You

• You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in Connecticut, in good standing before your start date
• Active DEA license, or eligible for DEA licensure
• A natural leader who enjoys mentoring veterinarians and developing a team
• Strong communicator who works well in partnership with a practice manager
• Positive attitude and a real commitment to high standards of patient and client care
• ProSal base of $160,000 to $175,000, plus a Medical Director stipend
