Job summary

National Veterinary Associates' Old Town Animal Care Center in Chicago offers a busy, diverse caseload spanning preventive care, dentistry, surgery, urgent care, and medical workups in a full-service hospital.

Experienced DVM with 3-5+ years can expect full medical autonomy with a supportive team, highly engaged clients, and opportunities for advanced procedures, including orthopedic surgery, in a walkable neighborhood.

Qualifications

• At least 3–5+ years of experience as a DVM in small animal GP, urgent care, or similar setting.
• Ability to practice high-quality medicine with autonomy in a fast-paced hospital.
• Comfort with a diverse caseload including dentistry, surgery, and urgent care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver preventive care, urgent care, dentistry, and soft tissue/or orthopedic procedures.
• Collaborate with a skilled team to provide comprehensive medical workups.
• Engage with highly invested urban pet owners and maintain high clinical standards.

The Opportunity:

• A busy, varied caseload spanning preventive care, urgent care, dentistry, surgery, and medical workups .
• Full medical autonomy with the support of an experienced veterinary and technical team.
• Practice in a fast-paced urban hospital with highly engaged, invested pet owners.
• Regular exposure to urgent care cases and advanced procedures, including orthopedic surgery.
• At least 3-5+ years of experience as a DVM in a small animal GP, urgent care, or similar setting is required .

The Resources:

• Six-DVM team supported by lead technicians, a surgical lead, pharmacy support, CSRs, and a skilled technician/assistant team.
• Full-service care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets.
• Dentistry, soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, and urgent care availability.
• Diagnostics including ultrasound/echocardiogram options, EKG, radiography, and laboratory services.
• Laser therapy to support pain management, inflammation, healing, and post-surgical recovery.
