Job summary

The Missouri Veterans Home is seeking a Recreation/Music Therapist Assistant to support therapeutic and leisure activities for Veterans. The role includes assisting with activities, outings, and documenting progress while driving as needed in state vehicles.

Qualifications include 0-1 years of relevant experience and a Missouri Class E driver license or ability to obtain within 60 days. This is an on-site, hourly position with comprehensive benefits.

• Current Missouri Class E driver license or able to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Learn and demonstrate basic methods and application of recreational, music, and other therapeutic activities.
• Make preparations/arrangements for and carry out activities, such as group outings.
• Provide resources and support to Veterans to enhance skills appropriate to their physical and cognitive ability.
• Document electronically activity attendance records, assessments, progress notes, and care plans.
• Drive bus or other state vehicles during day/night both in town and on highway.
• Lift and move Veterans as needed.
