Aptive Resources is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Primary Care unit at Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. The role focuses on direct patient care within an interdisciplinary team, handling clinic appointments, labs, imaging, and procedures.

Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with breaks and a lunch, and VA operational considerations; candidates must hold an Ohio RN license, BLS/CPR, ACLS if required, and have at least one year of recent experience in direct

Qualifications

• ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program completed
• Current Ohio RN license from the Ohio Board of Nursing
• Current BLS and CPR certification through an American Heart Association vendor
• ACLS certification required for specialty clinics
• At least 1 year of direct patient care in the last 3 years
• English language fluency

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories and plan nursing care
• Document care plans in CPRS EHR and code E/M
• Educate patients on medications and therapies
• Participate in discharge planning and scrub/circulating duties as assigned
• Follow safety and infection control standards
• Attend staff meetings such as All Call and Nurse Call
• Provide courteous care and protect patient privacy
• Carry out provider orders per facility policy
• Administer medications and IV therapies
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and operate emergency equipment
• Recognize emergencies and initiate life-saving measures
• Perform skin assessments and prevent pressure ulcers
• Care for catheters, prostheses, central lines and ventilators
• Review labs and communicate key information
