Job summary

The Philadelphia Veterans Multi Service & Education Center Inc is seeking a Community Outreach professional to connect homeless veterans and families with essential services in Reading, PA. You will guide applicants through the program process and coordinate with partners across social services.

You will develop community connections, manage outreach data, and present program goals to stakeholders while ensuring respectful, ethical engagement with participants and community organizations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of social services, housing/homeless sectors, and nonprofit work.
• Minimum 2 years in community engagement and communications, ideally with poverty or homelessness programs.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record and adequate insurance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outreach efforts to locate homeless veterans and their families.
• Facilitate program applications, referrals, document collection and participant screening.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners and agencies.
• Maintain records such as asset maps, outreach trackers, and mileage logs.
• Conduct outreach activities to locate homeless veterans and raise program visibility.
• Deliver presentations to partners to promote program goals and outcomes.
• Attend internal and external meetings related to the position.
