Job summary

Swords to Plowshares Veterans Rights Organization in San Francisco is seeking a Legal Assistant to support the Legal Services team with administrative duties, intake interviews, and grant documentation. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a hybrid schedule with two in-person days.

You will manage client data in our Salesforce-based system, assist attorneys with documents, and help track grant deliverables to meet funding requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with trauma-informed work or veterans services preferred.
• Fluent in English with strong written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect and enter client intake data into Salesforce-based system.
• Track grant deliverables and generate client data reports.
• Assess eligibility for legal services based on location, issue, and grants.
• Prepare documents such as retainers and records requests.
• Respond to inquiries and provide self-help legal information.
• Attend weekly staff and supervisory meetings.
• Sort and distribute mail for the Legal Unit.
• Perform other duties as required.
