Priority Patient Transport is seeking a qualified phlebotomist to serve Veterans at the VA Bedford Medical Center. You will draw blood, identify patients and samples, and process specimens in a compliant lab environment.

You will rotate through lab areas as needed, ensure HIPAA compliance, and participate in QA/QI activities. A background check and PIV badge are required, with E-Verify eligibility and BC/BS alignment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent phlebotomy experience (hospital or inpatient preferred).
• Certification as phlebotomist from ASCP (PBT), AMT (RPT), NHA (CPT) or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification (renewed every 2 years).
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Able to pass VA Tier 1 background investigation and obtain a PIV badge.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. (E-Verify).
• Not listed on the HHS OIG exclusion list.

Responsabilités

• Draw blood from inpatients and outpatients (ward rounds, Urgent Care/ED, STAT, ASAP, timed draws).
• Identify patient and sample accurately before collection and testing or aliquoting.
• Process specimens and prepare send-outs for reference labs.
• Document and resolve collection, processing, testing or reporting issues; file event reports as needed.
• Protect patient information under HIPAA and the Privacy Act.
• Provide respectful, patient-centered care to Veterans.
