Job summary

The Northwest LA Veterans Home in Bossier City, LA is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide routine sub-professional patient care in a respectful environment for veteran patients. You will assist with basic nursing tasks, monitor vital signs, and record data in medical records. This role requires compassion and reliability.

Position offers 12-hour shifts, day or night, with weekends/holidays required, and salary options for CNA 1 or CNA 2 with differential pay.

Qualifications

Six months of patient care experience or training.
Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
Completion of an accredited RN, PN, Medical Assistant, or EMT program.

Responsibilities

Direct and assist in providing care to patients such as ambulating, bathing, positioning, lifting, and dressing.
Directs and assists in the feeding of patients; monitors and documents eating patterns.
Cleans rooms, makes and changes bed linen.
Distributes clean linens, washes, dries, sorts, folds, and stores patient’s clothing.
Measures temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, intake and output, and records in patient’s medical record.
Observes patient’s condition and reports any changes to the charge nurse.
Provides care to patients with infectious diseases, as needed.
