Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) is seeking an Assistant State Veteran Coordinator to support Employment Services operations and veteran employment initiatives.

Based in SC, the role involves monitoring grants, providing training, and coordinating with federal and state agencies to deliver high-quality services to veterans and eligible individuals.

This position may require travel and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to ensure program success.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and four years of experience in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG).
• Monitor and improve federal performance measures of DVOP and LVER programs.
• Ensure training and proficiency of DVOPs and LVERs.
• Develop a system to assess staff capabilities.
• Coordinate with other service providers to help veterans overcome employment barriers.
• Plan and execute off-site training by the National Veterans Training Institute.
