Job summary

HVAF of Indiana seeks a VetWorks Employment Specialist to support veterans and families through job placement and career development. You will manage client caseloads, deliver soft skills training, develop resumes, and coordinate interviews with employers.

The role emphasizes collaboration with community partners and training providers to ensure successful outcomes. Regular, full-time, exempt position with a Monday–Friday schedule and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; Social Work degree is preferred.
• Must have a valid Indiana driver's license and be eligible for HVAF's auto insurance.
• Ability to lift, move and organize items up to 45 pounds.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with teams.
• Strong understanding of programs and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Works with team members and community partner agencies to identify, evaluate, and assist potential and current clients.
• Maintains a caseload of clients and assists with career development for transitions.
• Helps clients complete soft skills curriculum through the VetWorks program.
• Assists with job placement and retention by developing resumes and coordinating interviews.
• Maintains client records in HMIS and adheres to agency standards.
• Leads workshops, seminars, and classes to support VetWorks.
• Engages with public and partners to promote HVAF VetWorks program.
• Collaborates with training providers to maintain relationships and access training.
• Participates in trainings related to veteran homelessness and employment barriers.
