Southwest Law Firm in Glendale, AZ is seeking an Associate Attorney for our Veterans disability practice. The role focuses on legal writing, case analysis, and VA disability appeals strategy rather than courtroom litigation.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, coachable, and capable of managing a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy. A strong interest in Veterans and administrative law is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review VA Rating Decision Letters and identify appeal opportunities.
• Draft legal briefs and arguments for Supplemental Claims and Higher-Level Reviews.
• Analyze medical and lay evidence to support service connection and increased rating arguments.
• Tailor all arguments to the VA’s stated reasons for denial.
• Collaborate with Appeals Team and Case Managers on case strategy.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all legal documents before submission.
• Assist in Higher-Level Review conferences when needed.
• Utilize internal systems to track and manage work and drive improvements.
