Job summary

U.S.VETS seeks a Veteran Service Coordinator to lead client services at the March Air Reserve Base site. The role oversees the Veterans Service Department, coordinating day-to-day operations from entry to graduation in residential programs, while ensuring a therapeutic community across all phases.

Requirements include a 4-year degree in social services and 2+ years of supervisory experience; experience with homeless or veteran populations is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services field or related field required; four years of relevant employment experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience; two years of employment at U.S.VETS may substitute for supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with homeless and/or veteran population preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Leadership and conflict management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required; must meet company insurance requirements and complete a driver training course

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and maintains a therapeutic community.
  • Supervises and manages the Veterans Service Department.
  • Available for on-call emergencies and responsible for 24-hour site coverage.
  • Organizes and coordinates community service areas and therapeutic stations.
  • Implements residential program structure and supports provision of direct services.
  • Provides support, training and supervision to staff who provide direct services.
  • Responsible for ensuring the reliability of mail services if applicable.
  • Coordinates weekly cleaning schedule of client rooms and other areas around the site.
