Job summary

Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN seeks a Veteran Services Assistant - Temporary to support Veterans Services. The role requires working at the Oak Ridge and Harriman campuses and may involve travel to recruitment events. The position involves helping veteran student groups, recruitment, and serving as a liaison with Veterans Services, under the Director's guidance.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent credit hours/experience.
• Knowledge of veteran education benefits and how to apply.
• Prior military or military-affiliated experience a plus.
• Academic Advising experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of recruitment, enrollment, retention, and matriculation processes.
• Ability to work independently and communicate about RSCC and Veterans Services.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate veteran/veteran affiliated student groups.
• Assist with student recruitment.
• Serve as a liaison between students and Veterans Services.
• Assist the Director of Veteran Services with events such as orientations, Green Zone Training, Salute to Service, and more.
• Help advise veteran students during peak enrollment time.
