Job summary

Liberty Dogs is seeking an experienced Foster Program Manager to oversee the foster system, ensuring placements meet the industry standards and match dogs to appropriate foster homes. You will recruit, train, and retain volunteers who drive a nationwide program, coordinating with veterinary, outreach, and adoption teams.

The role requires 2–3 years of experience in large volunteer programs, a Bachelor’s degree, and a commitment to science-based, positive reinforcement training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years coordinating large volunteer programs in a non-profit setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Animal or Business fields.
  • Commitment to science-based, positive reinforcement training and strong documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage volunteer fosters and develop onboarding programs.
  • Supervise volunteers on and off site and lead training with/without service dogs.
  • Develop individualized foster placements in collaboration with staff and partners.
  • Create monthly newsletters and updates; maintain regular contact with fosters.
  • Coordinate with Outreach, Marketing, and Puppy teams for engagement and retention.
  • Track inventory and help build scalable systems for a national program.
  • Represent Liberty Dogs in media and events; ensure safety and welfare policies.
  • Schedule work on weekends/evenings with up to 10% travel locally or nationally.
