Job summary

Akicita Federal is hiring a Physician (MD) to deliver full-scope primary care to Veterans at the Lyle C. Pearson VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Mankato, MN.

This is a full-time, onsite role serving as the primary clinical resource at the CBOC, shaping health outcomes for a population that has earned compassionate care. You will provide comprehensive primary care services, perform thorough exams, manage acute and chronic conditions, and coordinate referrals within VA systems while

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a closely related primary care specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions for Veteran patients.
• Conduct thorough patient history-taking, physical examinations, and clinical assessments in accordance with VA care standards.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinating referrals to specialty services as clinically indicated.
• Document all patient encounters, clinical decisions, and treatment plans accurately and promptly in the VA electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with the CBOC care team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Participate in VA credentialing, privileging, and quality assurance processes as required by the facility.
• Support preventive care initiatives, chronic disease management, and population health goals aligned with VA clinical priorities.
