Job summary

Isuzu Veterans Apprenticeship Program (IVAP) in Kansas seeks Military Veterans with mechanical experience to begin a rewarding career as an Isuzu Service Technician Apprentice. This U.S.

Department of Labor and GI Bill‑approved Registered Apprenticeship program helps qualified Veterans transition into the commercial truck industry while gaining hands‑on dealership experience. Ideal candidates have diesel, heavy equipment, automotive, or related maintenance experience and can pass the IVAP

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates may have experience in one or more of the following areas: wheeled vehicle maintenance, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment maintenance, automotive repair, aircraft maintenance, generator maintenance, fleet maintenance, military maintenance supervision.
• Preferred qualifications include: diesel engine maintenance or repair, experience with commercial trucks or heavy equipment, familiarity with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment, experience with electrical, braking, suspension, HVAC, or driveline systems, ASE certifications or military maintenance training.

Responsibilities

• Support dealership service operations by assisting with inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of Isuzu commercial vehicles.
• Work alongside dealership service teams and participate in on‑the‑job learning and apprenticeship requirements.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills during the apprenticeship.
