Job summary

Collin College is seeking a degree plan specialist to serve veteran students, guiding them through benefits utilization and college planning. The role collaborates with the Credit for Heroes program and CTE students to streamline processes and promote student success.

This grant-funded position requires an associate degree and at least two years of related experience or an equivalent combination, with emphasis on veterans’ enrollment support and confidentiality under FERPA.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with military personnel required.
• This position is Security Sensitive and requires background checks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate student transcripts per District policy, SACs requirements and AACRAO principles.
• Collaborate with “College Credit for Heroes” to fast-track students.
• Assist with graduation check out and commencement ceremonies.
• Work with college staff and administration to resolve veteran enrollment issues.
