Job summary

The West Texas VA Health Care System is seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join the Extended Care Nursing Service in the Community Living Center. This role supports quality health care and positive customer service for Veterans, reporting to the CLC Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities include medication administration within license, nursing care under RN/MD supervision, and adherence to established policies and procedures to promote patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved practical or vocational nursing program.
• Full active, current LPN/LVN licensure in the United States.
• Proficient in English for spoken and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs focused nursing care within the scope of an LVN/LPN license.
• Administers medications as prescribed, documents actions, and reports patient responses.
• Collaborates with RN/MD to orient/train staff and ensure quality patient care.
• Maintains safety, prompts reporting of changes in patient condition.
• Completes routine nursing duties and adheres to facility policies.

Education

Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the State agency

Licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse (LPN/LVN)

English language proficiency
