Job summary

KIA Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) offers veterans a path to become Kia Certified Service Technicians through a one-year competency-based apprenticeship. The program provides access to necessary tools, equipment, vehicles, and training to complete the certification process.

Full-time employment with a participating Kia Retailer is offered, with a program designed specifically for veterans and GI Bill benefits including potential housing allowances during the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge is a must.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record required.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field is required.
• Willingness to complete drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests per Kia and retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose/repair components using Kia diagnostic strategies and tools.
• Perform services and repairs in a timely manner while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor.
