Job summary

A participating Kia dealership in New York is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience for an Automotive Service Technician role. This position is part of a structured apprenticeship program designed to help veterans transition into the automotive industry. Candidates will work full-time, gaining hands-on experience alongside seasoned technicians, while also qualifying for a Monthly Housing Allowance through the GI Bill. Ideal candidates should have an honorable discharge, valid driver's license, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, including engines and transmissions.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs using Kia diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment while following dealership safety procedures.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment

Basic automotive maintenance or repair experience

Familiarity with diagnostic tools and hand tools

Education

Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
