Differences Between Vetco Vaccination Clinics and Vetco Total Care Hospitals

Vetco Vaccination Clinics offer wellness exams, preventive vaccinations, medications, heartworm testing, and microchip insertion. No surgeries, emergencies, or sick visits are conducted. Clinics are located inside Petco stores, with appointments to manage traffic and ensure timely service.

Vetco Total Care Hospitals provide preventive care, diagnostics, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. Relief shifts are coordinated with the medical director to review case comfort levels. Hospitals feature digital records, surgical suites, ultrasound, X-ray, AI radiograph interpretation, and on-site labs. No overnight or emergency on-call shifts.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine license in good standing
• State-specific licensing to perform all shift functions, including blood draws and vaccinations
• DEA license in good standing (preferred for hospital shifts)
• Professional Liability Insurance and license defense policy
• Compliance with all local, state, and federal mandates
