Job summary

McGehee Clinic for Animals in Memphis, TN, part of the Suveto network, is seeking an experienced full-time Veterinary Technician. You will work under the supervision of licensed veterinarians to perform medical, diagnostic, and laboratory procedures, support patient care, and assist during examinations.

This team-oriented clinic emphasizes internal medicine, diagnostics, and compassionate client communication.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current LVT license to practice.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical veterinary hospital experience.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Must have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and have a positive attitude.
• Must be flexible and able to adapt to new situations.
• Ability to multitask and work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist veterinarians during appointments.
• Take client histories and document observations in medical records.
• Educate clients on preventive care and follow-up.
• Perform venipuncture and in-house laboratory tests; relay results to owners.
• Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients.
• Assist in induction and maintenance of anesthesia.
• Place IV catheters and start fluids.
• Assist in surgery and post-op care.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock areas.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
