The technician will provide nursing care, assist in surgery, perform diagnostics, and educate clients while maintaining high standards and a supportive hospital culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed/Certified/Registered Veterinary Technician credential required. Applicants close to licensure considered.
• Proficiency in client education, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, radiology, and dentistry.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients with IV placement, CRI management, meds, and monitoring.
• Assist with surgical prep, monitoring, and recovery ensuring safety and comfort.
• Support veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures with proper restraint.
• Perform labs (urinalysis, hematology, fecals, cytology); document and communicate results.
• Operate radiology and ultrasound equipment; follow safety standards.
• Administer medications/vaccines; maintain DEA/OSHA compliance.
• Maintain daily controlled drug logs and proper storage/documentation.
• Create, review, and enter treatment plans in medical records.
• Support hospital operations via recordkeeping, charge entry, auditing.
• Provide client education on preventive care, treatment plans, meds, nutrition.
• Keep treatment/surgical areas clean, organized, and sterile.
• Monitor inventory; assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Promote positive workplace culture through communication and teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned; ensure compliance with laws and hospital policies.
• Assist in training unlicensed staff and foster growth mindset culture.
