Texas Coalition for Animal Protection seeks a Veterinary Technician to care for surgical patients and vaccinate wellness pets, while educating clients about TCAP services. You will greet the public, assist with routine health evaluations, vaccines, and post-operative care, with strong emphasis on safety and animal welfare.

The role requires working a full shift 7:30 am–4:15 pm, full- or part-time options, and willingness to travel between TCAP locations.

Qualifications

• Must have Veterinary Technician experience or must have successfully performed the functions of a Veterinary Assistant I and II positions within TCAP.
• Must have practice experience in giving injections and drawing blood.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to work a full shift from 7:30 am - 4:15 pm.
• May be required to travel to other TCAP locations using a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provides knowledgeable and quality customer service.
• Provides in-person and telephone client service.
• Actively promotes spay and neuter and educates clients on responsible ownership.
• Supports associate staff and volunteers; promotes skill development aligned with TCAP goals.
• Represents TCAP professionally to clients, volunteers, and staff.
• Provides compassionate and skilled patient care.
• Triages patients at check-in; reports health concerns to attending veterinarian.
• Assists veterinarian as needed; administers anesthesia per protocol.
• Maintains drug logs and patient records; stays current on emergency drugs and protocol.
• Administers vaccines and treatments; prepares patients for surgery.
• Maintains medical inventory and supplies.
