Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician - Non-Credentialed to join our medical team in Annapolis, MD. This hands-on role focuses on patient care, venipuncture, and supporting veterinarians across treatment and exam rooms.

Qualifications

• Hands-on veterinary clinical experience required.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and blood collection from dogs and cats.
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures and medical terminology.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with patient handling.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture (blood draws) confidently and efficiently while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
• Collect, prepare, and process blood, urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples.
• Assist with in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures.
• Safely and confidently handle and restrain dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments.
• Assist veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians with patient treatments and medical procedures.
• Provide compassionate nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients, reporting changes in condition to the medical team.
• Assist with surgical preparation, patient monitoring, and recovery under appropriate veterinary supervision.
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian and within the scope of applicable law.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records and treatment documentation.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and surgical areas.
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians, registered veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff.
• Be willing to rotate between treatment and exam room responsibilities based on hospital needs.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked work areas.
• Communicate patient concerns and important information promptly and accurately.
• Take initiative, anticipate team needs, and assist fellow team members during busy periods.
• Help maintain an efficient, supportive, and compassionate hospital environment.
