Anne Arundel Veterinary Emergency Clinic, Inc. is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced ER team. The role includes triaging, stabilizing patients, and supporting veterinarians with anesthesia, diagnostics, and ICU care.

Qualifications

• Nurse critically ill and emergency patients.
• Think critically, solve problems, and follow DVM orders.
• Learn veterinary software applications.
• Work in a fast-paced, stressful environment with professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, clients and the public.
• Knowledge of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment care and storage.
• Work independently and take direction as needed.
• Speak, read and write English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients on arrival and prioritize based on vitals.
• Initiate stabilization: IV catheterization, fluids, and medications per veterinarian.
• Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans.
• Provide high-quality care with close monitoring and timely treatments.
• Collect and analyze blood, urine, and other samples in-house.
• Assist with anesthesia and monitor vitals during procedures.
• Produce radiographs of soft tissues, organs and bones.
• Assist in placing feeding tubes for nutrition.
• Support post-surgical care, including ICU cases.
