Job summary

The Hinsdale Animal Hospital externship offers veterinary students a hands-on view of daily practice operations, under the supervision of Associate Veterinarians. You'll gain experience in patient histories, exams, treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, and observing or assisting surgeries, while sharpening communication with the team and clients.

Externships typically run two to eight weeks, with travel/living expense stipends.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams
• Create and discuss treatment plans and diagnostics
• Provide dentistry services and assist or perform surgical procedures
• Assist in medical management of patients
• Practice communication with the medical team, staff, and clients
