Job summary

An externship experience at Haven Animal Hospital offers veterinary students a practical view of daily practice operations and hands-on clinical opportunities.

Students work with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in patient histories, physical exams, treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgical procedures, while developing communication with the medical team, staff, and clients. A travel/living expense stipend is available for clinical portion students.

Qualifications

• Gaining experience in histories, exams, treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry and surgery.
• Develop communication with medical team, staff and clients.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Create treatment plans and order diagnostics.
• Observe/assist or perform dental procedures and surgeries; manage medical cases.
