Job summary

Adobe Animal Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, part-time role in Los Altos, CA to handle surgical equipment prep and sterile processing. You will follow written and verbal instructions, assist technicians and veterinarians, and help maintain infection control throughout the surgical areas.

The position offers hands-on learning about animal medicine, surgical procedures, and equipment while working with a team of coworkers. Training is provided, with pay starting at $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in sterile processing preferred but training provided.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology beneficial.
• Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic technique.
• Experience with inventory management in healthcare is advantageous.
• Ability to operate sterilization equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Clean equipment used in the hospital daily.
• Identify surgical supplies and instruments for preparation.
• Maintain and change cleaning solutions.
• Operate Autoclave and Ethylene Oxide sterilizers.
• Restrain patients and assist with procedures.
• Routine cleaning of surgical areas.
• Stock supplies for Surgery Department.
• Prepare, package, and label surgical supplies.
• Follow infection control guidelines.
• Take verbal and written directions from Leads and management.
