Job summary

The Animal Clinic of Farmers Branch, part of National Veterinary Associates, offers veterinary externships for clinical year students with supervision from Associate Veterinarians. externs gain hands-on experience in histories, exams, treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgical observation or participation.

Externs will also practice communication with the medical team, staff, and clients in a supportive, growth-minded environment that values compassionate animal care.

Qualifications

• Externship experience at an NVA hospital with a focus on hands-on clinical practice.
• Gain experience gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, and observing or assisting surgical procedures.
• Develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist and observe clinical exams, histories, and treatment planning.
• Participate in diagnostics, dentistry, and surgical procedures as directed by supervisors.
