Job summary

Angeles Clinic for Animals in Port Angeles, WA offers a Veterinary Externship allowing clinical-year students to experience day-to-day practice under supervision. You will take histories, perform exams, design treatment plans, and observe or assist in surgeries.

Externships run two to eight weeks, with opportunities to strengthen communication with the medical team and clients. A travel and living stipend of $1,500 is provided to eligible veterinary students.

Qualifications

• Externship at an NVA hospital provides hands-on clinical experience.
• Work with supervising Associate Veterinarians on history taking, exams, treatment plans.
• Gain experience in diagnostics, dentistry, surgery observation/assistance.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Assist in creation of treatment plans and diagnostics.
• Observe or assist in dental procedures and surgeries.
• Develop communication skills with medical team, staff, and clients.
