Job summary

The Veterinary Assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital supports veterinarians and technicians to ensure safe, high‑quality care for pets and clients. You’ll help maintain patient flow, set up procedures, and educate owners on preventive care and wellness plans.

We expect NAVTA-approved training or equivalent, with a preferred high school diploma. You’ll work in a team that values safety, education, and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Certificate from NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform NAVTA-listed veterinary assistant duties.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure safe care for pets.
• Maintain patient flow and communicate with veterinarians and vet techs.
• Set up procedures that do not require direct vet/tech assistance.
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans.
• Mentor other hospital staff and uphold hospital standards.
