Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care. You will assist in daily procedures, educate clients on preventive care, and help maintain a smooth hospital workflow.

Preferred NAVTA-certified training and a high school diploma, with opportunities for professional development and advancement within Banfield’s network of hospitals.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills at a level aiding practice efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in daily hospital operations.
• Maintain flow of patients and communicate with veterinarians and vet techs.
• Carry out procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans for pets.
• Mentor other hospital team members and uphold hospital standards for safety and cleanliness.
