Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in the United States is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital team. You will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians, help ensure the safety of pets, clients and associates, and maintain the continuity of high-quality care.

You’ll participate in daily clinical tasks, monitor patient comfort, and help organize exam rooms and labs. Preferred NAVTA-approved program or equivalent; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• The NAVTA-certified veterinary assistant program (or equivalent) is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
• Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe and the areas clean
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans
• Mentor other members of the hospital team
