Job summary

Burke Animal Clinic in Burke, VA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for a full-time role in a busy general practice. You will assist with vaccines, x-rays, exams, labs, and client communication, contributing to high-quality care for pets in our community.

Qualifications

• Experienced Veterinary Assistant with ability to perform SQ injections, blood draws and radiographs.
• Able to work Sunday–Tuesday and Thursday shift pattern.
• Reliable, honest, communicative team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for veterinary care: restraints, vaccines, meds, exams, and x-rays.
• Draw blood, run in-house labs, assist in surgery prep, nail trims.
• Support client communications and enter charges accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and patient care; mentor teammates as needed.
• Participate in meetings, CE events, and fostering a positive culture.
• Contribute to a culture of dependability, flexibility, and humor.

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant confident in preforming SQ injections, blood draws and radiographs.
• Able to work Sunday - Tuesday + Thursday
• Reliable, honest, communicative, and ready to pitch in wherever needed

What You’ll Do:

• Provide hands-on support for veterinary care including:
  • Restraint, preparing vaccines, filling medications, assisting in exams and with x-rays
  • Drawing blood, processing in-house labs, surgical prep, and nail trims
  • Assisting with client communication and entering charges accurately
• Help maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and patient care throughout the facility
• Mentor less-experienced team members when needed
• Participate in team meetings, CE opportunities, and collaborative learning
• Contribute to a positive work culture through dependability, flexibility, and humor
