Job summary

Peraton in San Diego, California seeks a Vessel Operator to work on-site in San Diego. The vessel operator will perform duties as a boat coxswain, maintain logs, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safe operation of the vessels, including 11m RHIB, 38' North River outboard, 27' Whaler, and CRRC.

Qualifications include Active/Current DoD SECRET clearance (or ability to obtain), BS/BA or 4 years of related experience, valid US driver's license and passport, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Active/Current DoD SECRET clearance, or the ability to obtain (within 2 years) and maintain a SECRET clearance
• BS/BA or 4 years of related work experience
• Valid US driver's license
• Valid US passport
• U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as a boat coxswain for the 11m RHIB and other craft; conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on engines and mechanical systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and conduct repairs as needed
• Complete pre/post vessel inspections and log daily reports
• Launch and recovery of vessels and ensure overall safe operations
• Operating navigation and communications equipment aboard the craft
